Description
A boxed Indian colonial silver set comprising a salt cellar and a matching spoon. The set is housed in its original black presentation case. The interior lid of the presentation box is stamped CALCUTTA / DELHI / Cooke & Kelvey / SILVERSMITHS JEWELLERS. Both the salt cellar rim and the reverse of the spoon handle are struck with three rectangular punch marks; the first mark contains the initials C&K for the makers Cooke and Kelvey. The subsequent two marks on each piece are present but the individual characters are not clearly legible. 48 grams. Salt cellar 2" H. Spoon 4" L. Case 1 3/4" H x 5 1/2" W x 4 1/2" D.

Condition report:
Both pieces exhibit heavy tarnish and oxidation with surface discolorations in shades of gold and dark gray. Minor surface scratches and wear consistent with age and use are present. The presentation case shows external scuffing and some fraying to the interior fabric lining, particularly near the hinges. The metal clasps and hinges remain functional.
