Collection of 17 vintage knives featuring various advertising, souvenir, and novelty designs. Includes a Laguiole folding multi-tool with a main blade, corkscrew, and awl. An advertising multi-blade knife by Camillus is present, stamped CAMILLUS USA on the tang, with pearloid celluloid handles featuring text for Benedictine, Peter Dawson, Dry Sack Sherry, and Bollinger. A Colonial Prov. R.I. advertising knife features handles for the First National Bank in Eads, Colo. A souvenir folding knife by E. Blyde and Co. Ltd. of Sheffield, England, features an inlaid metal steamship and text for the R.M.S. Caronia. Additional items include a 1940 New York World’s Fair fixed-blade souvenir knife with the Trylon and Perisphere logo, folding knives for the R.M.S. Mauretania, Canadian Club, Shell gasoline, and Minicam, as well as novelty shapes including a bird with mother-of-pearl type scales, a key-shaped folder, and a Chinatown, N.Y. souvenir. Handle materials throughout the lot include pearloid celluloid, cream celluloid, mother-of-pearl, and bone or composite. Blades are constructed of carbon and stainless steel with various bolster materials including brass and nickel silver. Largest knife 4 3/4" L (closed), 8 1/2" L (open).

Condition report:

Most blades exhibit varying degrees of oxidation, surface pitting, and sharpening wear consistent with age and use. The 1940 World\'s Fair fixed-blade knife shows significant dark patina and surface rust on the blade. Some celluloid handle scales show typical age-related shrinkage and discoloration. Mechanical actions vary, with some pieces showing stiffness or wear from use.
