Description
Adrien Etienne Gaudez (French, 1845-1902). Late 19th century bronze sculpture, Sainte Cecile. A bronze plaque is affixed to the front of the base. The top surface of the base features an incised signature. The underside retains the original mounting hardware including three bolts and square nuts. 13 1/2″ H x 3 3/4″ base diameter.
Condition report:
The sculpture is in good overall condition with age-appropriate wear. There is light surface wear to the patina on protruding edges including the nose, knees, and toes. Minor dust accumulation and light verdigris are present in the deeper recesses of the drapery folds. The wire strings for the lyre are missing.
