Jose Chavez Morado (Mexican, 1909-2002). Oil on canvas, Procession (Procesion), 1960. Signed and dated Chavez Morado 60 in the upper right. Gallery label from Galeria de Arte Mexicano (Ines Amor Gallery) in Mexico City on verso. 53 1/2″ H x 61 1/4″ with frame.
Condition report:
The painting shows a horizontal white scuff mark approximately three inches long in the lower-left quadrant within the red canopy area. Light surface dirt and dust accumulation are present across the canvas. The linen liner shows minor age-related discoloration and light staining. The wooden frame displays minor scuffs and small areas of paint loss along the edges and at the corners.
