Utagawa Hiroshige (Japanese, 1797-1858). Woodblock, Snow Scene of Benzaiten Shrine at Inokashira Pond. From the series Famous Places: Snow, Moon, and Flowers (Meisho Setsugekka). Signed upper right. 9 5/8″ x 14 1/4″ sight size. 14 1/4″ x 19 1/4″ with frame. Location: Bin 40
Condition report:
The print exhibits significant foxing throughout the sheet, most notably on the white areas representing snow on the roof and ground. General paper toning is present, along with distinct mat burn along the outer perimeter of the image. The frame and glass appear to be in good condition.
