The figure is dressed in a kimono secured with an obi sash and features a traditional topknot hairstyle. The child holds a spherical object, likely representing a peach or ball, in the right hand. The cast iron construction retains remnants of original gold leaf gilding and is covered in a green verdigris-style patina. The figure is paired with a carved, tiered wooden stand with a dark finish. Protective circular felt pads are attached to the underside of the figure. No maker marks or signatures are present. 12 x 6 x 3.5 inches. Location: 19B
Condition report:
Significant and widespread loss to the original gold leaf gilding. Extensive green oxidation and patination across the surface. Minor surface pitting and casting irregularities consistent with age and material. The wooden stand shows light surface wear and minor scuffing around the edges.
