Description
Set of ten French Country style chairs comprising seven dining chairs and three bar-height stools. The group features a ladder-back design with a distressed cream-painted finish. Hand-painted green and blue floral and foliate motifs decorate the back splats, carved aprons, and front stretchers. Each piece is fitted with a woven rush seat and stands on cabriole front legs. Dining chairs 36 1/2″ H x 17″ W x 16″ D, 18 1/2″ seat height. Bar chairs 41 1/4″ H x 17″ W x 16″ D, 25″ seat height.
Condition report:
The painted finish displays significant and likely intentional distressing throughout, including wear and paint loss to the edges and carved details. The woven rush seats appear intact and functional. Minor surface abrasions and marks consistent with use.
