Description
This mahogany sideboard is part of the Henredon Historic Natchez Collection and is designed in the Federal Revival style with a high-gloss finish. The case features a central section with two wide drawers over a shaped apron, flanked by two stacks of two smaller drawers for a total of six drawers. The drawer boxes are constructed with machine-cut dovetail joints. The piece is fitted with a custom dark marble top. It is supported by six tapered and fluted legs, each with a spiral-turned capital and terminating in a carved lion’s paw foot. Hardware consists of cast brass-tone lion mask ring pulls on all drawer fronts, with a decorative gold-tone tassel suspended from a central keyhole on the top middle drawer. An oval brass identification plate is mounted to the interior of a drawer and is inscribed Henredon Historic Natchez Collection. 38″ H x 72″ W x 23″ D. Condition report:
The mahogany finish retains a high luster with minor surface marks consistent with gentle use. The custom marble top is intact without visible cracks or major chips.
