Description
This large-scale oil on stretched canvas depicts a lush garden landscape in a contemporary impressionistic style. The composition features a vibrant array of flowering plants, including clusters of white and pink peonies in the foreground, tall purple delphiniums, and various red blooms. The flowers surround a central sun-dappled meadow, with a low stone wall and a rustic wooden fence visible through dense green foliage and trees in the background. The work is characterized by heavy impasto technique, using thick applications of paint to create a three-dimensional surface texture throughout the floral and foliage elements. The painting is signed HENRY PEETERS in white paint in the lower right corner. Condition report:
The painting is in overall excellent condition with no visible craquelure, paint loss, or signs of restoration. The heavy impasto surface is stable. A small portion of the raw canvas edge is visible at the very bottom margin near the signature. The frame shows minor scuffing and wear to the corners and edges but remains structurally sound and presentable.
