Description
Denis-Paul Noyer (French, b. 1940). Venice Canal Scene. Original watercolor and ink drawing on paper. The composition depicts a classic Venetian architectural view featuring a domed church and campanile in the distance, a small bridge over a canal, and a distinctive green and tan structure on stilts in the water. The work is executed in a warm palette of sienna, ochre, and terracotta with lavender and light blue washes. Signed and inscribed in ink in the lower left: denis paul noyer Venise 69. 20 x 26 inches.
Condition report:
Brownish foxing or stain mark located in the upper right quadrant. Light handling wear and slight creasing visible along the outer edges of the paper. The verso shows old adhesive tape residue at the corners and top center edge from previous mounting. Minor overall paper toning consistent with age.
