Description
This neoclassical-style console table features a carved and giltwood base topped with a rectangular slab of brecciated green marble. The design includes a fluted apron accented with a central hanging floral garland swag. The front supports are carved as winged monopodia featuring lion heads and terminating in hairy paw feet resting on square plinth bases. The table is supported at the rear by two flat, scrolled wall brackets. The interior back frame bears a stamped maker label for Anthony Amato. 34″ H x 28.5″ W x 13.5″ D.
Condition report:
The table is in good overall condition with visible wear consistent with age. A small chip is present on the front edge of the marble top. The giltwood finish shows areas of rubbing, minor losses, and general surface wear that exposes the green bole underneath. The back wood support frame shows evidence of water staining and discoloration.
