Description
Cast stone and teak wood outdoor dining suite including eight Giati armchairs. The large rectangular dining table is constructed with a cast stone top featuring a deep triple-molded edge. The top is supported by two heavy cast stone pedestal bases designed with scroll forms and centered carved shell motifs. The suite includes eight Giati teak armchairs featuring vertical slatted backs, slatted seats, and curved armrests. The chairs are accompanied by a set of removable cushions upholstered in a blue patterned outdoor fabric. The table top is secured to the pedestals by iron support plates and bolts. The chairs bear Giati manufacturer plaques on the frames. Table: 30″ H x 121″ L x 47 1/2″ W. Chairs: 33 1/2″ H x 22 1/2″ W x 22″ D. Condition report:
The suite is in weathered condition consistent with prolonged outdoor exposure. The cast stone table top displays a vertical crack through the molded edge. Widespread grey and green biological growth, including moss and lichen, is present across the stone surfaces. The iron support plates and bolts underneath the table show oxidation and rust. The teak chairs have aged to a silver-grey patina with instances of wood loss and splintering on the legs and corner joints. Green algae growth is visible at various mortise-and-tenon joints and lower leg sections. One chair arm displays an old fill repair. The outdoor cushions exhibit staining, mildew spotting, and accumulated debris throughout the fabric.
