Description
This psychedelic concert poster is an offset lithograph designed by artist Victor Moscoso in 1967 for The Blues Project performances at The Matrix in San Francisco. Identified as NR-6 (second printing) in Moscoso’s influential Neon Rose series, the work features a central solarized image of a seated, partially nude woman adorned with jewelry and surrounded by roses, rendered in vibrant, contrasting tones of neon orange, green, and blue. The composition is framed by wavy, undulating typography typical of the 1960s psychedelic era. The poster is signed in the plate at the lower right in stylized script reading moscoso and carries a copyright mark at the lower left reading © 1967 NEON ROSE. The reverse side includes a circular distributor’s ink stamp for Peter T. Geller of Sausalito, California.
20 x 15 inches.
Location: Drawer 7
Condition report:
The poster is in overall very good condition for a vintage paper item. Notable defects include a small, approximately 1/8-inch nick or tear at the top center edge and very minor softening at the corners. The paper shows light handling marks and general age-appropriate toning on the reverse side. The printed surface remains bright, although close inspection reveals a few tiny specks of ink loss. No significant foxing or fading is observed.
