Description
After Achille Granchi-Taylor (French, 1857-1921). Reproduction chromolithograph poster, Fete des Filets Bleus, Concarneau (Festival of the Blue Nets). The Fete des Filets Bleus originated in 1905 to support fishermen and the local economies who were affected by the collapse of sardine fishing. The festival name is attributed to the signature blue fishing nets used in and around Concarneau. The poster is unframed and has been linen-backed. No edition number is present. 29 1/4″ x 41″ sight size, 31″ x 42 1/2″ linen sheet size.
Condition report:
The poster shows even toning throughout the sheet. There is minor scattered foxing present in the margins and several V-shaped notches along the top edge of the paper.
