Description

An Arts and Crafts period table lamp by Apollo Studios, New York. The lamp features a four-sided pyramidal shade fitted with green slag glass panels set behind an intricate foliate metal filigree overlay in a leaf-and-vine motif. The shade is suspended from a double-arm harp-style base that terminates in a fluted, circular foot. The curved arms are detailed with a decorative twisted wire wrap. The entire piece is finished in a dark bronze or copper patina. The underside of the base plate features an incised stamp that reads APOLLO STUDIOS NEW YORK in an arc. A hand-etched M is also visible on the base plate. 15.5" H x 12" W x 7" D.

Location: 20C

Condition report:

The lamp is in aged condition with surface wear and minor loss to the patina consistent with use. The metal filigree overlay is intact without major breaks or bends. The green slag glass panels appear original and are free of significant cracks, though they show light accumulation of dust. Oxidation and verdigris are present on the underside of the base plate. The electrical components are non-functional; rewiring is recommended for safe operation.
