Description
This hand-knotted wool prayer rug features a traditional Persian tribal design, characteristic of Baluch or similar regional weaving traditions. The rug is constructed with a wool pile, and the reverse shows a medium-density weave. Approximately 7 x 4 feet (88 x 47 inches).
Condition report:
The rug shows age-appropriate wear to the wool pile throughout the central field and borders. There is significant wear and unevenness to the fringe at both ends, with noticeable losses to the warp threads and fraying visible. The selvedges show minor wear consistent with use.
