Description
Pair of Japanese woodblock prints after Kitagawa Utamaro. Mid-20th Century Showa-era reproductions of an 18th Century design. The left side of each print features a vertical signature reading Utamaro hitsu, followed by the mitsuboshi publisher seal of Tsutaya Juzaburo and a secondary circular seal. These high-quality re-cuts replicate the original Edo-period markings. Both 21 1/2" x 16 3/4" x 1" with frame.

Condition report:
There is a distinct discrepancy in the toning of the mats, with one appearing significantly more yellowed than the other. The frames exhibit minor surface wear.
