Description

This collection consists of 23 pieces of green pressed uranium glass or Vaseline glass. The assortment features a variety of functional and decorative forms typical of American Depression-era glassware. Serving pieces include one large two-handled platter with a dense molded floral and cherry blossom motif and one large footed cake stand with a smooth surface. Decorative items comprise a pair of three-arm candelabras with molded scrollwork bases and arms. Drinkware and small table items include three tapered shot glasses, one faceted glass shaker with a perforated metal screw-on lid, and a small round nut dish or coaster with a central sunburst pattern. The collection of plates and bowls includes four divided grill plates with a textured rim pattern, five round plates with concentric ring decoration, one octagonal luncheon plate, and two small bowls with two matching underplates. None are marked with maker names. Largest piece (serving platter): 2.5" H x 10.5" diameter.

Condition report:

The collection shows signs of use and age consistent with its period. One candelabra base has an internal fracture extending through the glass. One divided grill plate has a visible chip on the outer rim. One bowl or underplate displays a dark inclusion or stain embedded within the glass along with significant surface scratching. General wear throughout the lot includes light utensil marks, minor flea bites to some rims, and shelf wear to the bases.
