Silver gelatin print, John McLaughlin and Ricou Browning wrangling a tiger shark during the production of Thunderball (United Artists, 1965). Frame: 9 3/4 x 7 7/8 x 1/2 in.
From the personal collection of Peter Benchley (American, 1940–2006), acclaimed author of Jaws, accomplished diver, and prominent advocate for ocean and shark conservation.
Condition report:
The print exhibits surface scratches and fine linear cracks, particularly in the upper half of the composition. The glass shows light surface scuffs and scratches. The frame displays significant finish wear including numerous scuffs and paint losses, notably along the top rail. The paper backing is tattered around the edges.
