Peter de Sève (American, b. 1958). Watercolor on paper, Peter Benchley clinging to a suitcase. Signed de Sève in the lower right corner. Sight: 7 3/4 x 14 1/2 in. Frame: 13 1/2 x 20 in.
Provenance: Exhibited in "From the White House to the Deep Ocean: LBJ, Jaws and Conservation, " held at the LBJ Presidential Library, Austin, Texas, from April 19 through October 19, 2025.
From the personal collection of Peter Benchley (American, 1940–2006), acclaimed author of Jaws, accomplished diver, and prominent advocate for ocean and shark conservation.
Condition report:
The watercolor is in good overall condition with no visible foxing or fading to the pigments. There is minor toning to the inner mat. The chrome-finished frame is in good condition.
