Description
Two marine reference books including works by Richard Ellis (American, 1938-2024) and Kip Wagner (American, 1906-1972). Pieces of Eight: Recovering the Riches of a Lost Spanish Treasure Fleet by Kip Wagner as told to L.B. Taylor, Jr., is a second printing published by E.P. Dutton & Co., Inc. in 1967. Monsters of the Sea by Richard Ellis is a stated first edition published by Alfred A. Knopf in 1994. The volumes contain Benchley’s ownership signature and marginalia, and an authorial inscription by Richard Ellis. 9 5/8" H x 6 3/4" W x 1 1/4" D.

Condition report:
Pieces of Eight is in fair to good condition. The dust jacket shows significant wear with heavy chipping, losses at the spine ends and corners, and several edge tears. The text block edges show tanning. Monsters of the Sea is in very good condition with only minor shelf wear to the dust jacket edges.
