Two reference books on sharks, including works by Jacques-Yves Cousteau (French, 1910-1997) and Philippe Cousteau (French, 1940-1979). The Shark: Splendid Savage of the Sea, Doubleday & Company, 1970, first edition. Sebastian Horsley (English, 1962-2010). The Great White Shark: Paintings by Sebastian Horsley, 1994. The Cousteau volume is marked BENCHLEY in black ink on the front free endpaper. The Horsley volume is inscribed To Peter Benchley, With Best Wishes July 1994 and signed by the artist on the front free endpaper. 10 1/2" H x 7 3/8" W x 1" D (Cousteau); 11 7/8" H x 8 1/4" W x 3/8" D (Horsley).

Condition report:

The Jacques Cousteau dust jacket shows significant overall tanning and yellowing, with minor shelf wear and a small tear at the head of the spine. The blue cloth binding remains in good condition. The Sebastian Horsley volume displays minor surface scuffing to the black cloth boards. Internally, both volumes appear clean with no noted foxing or significant staining.
