Description
Peter Benchley (American, 1940-2006). Italian paperback, Lo Squalo, 1976. The volume is the first Oscar Mondadori edition of the Italian translation by Mariapaola Ricci Dettore. 7 1/4" H x 4 3/8" W x 3/4" D.
JAWS was translated into dozens of languages, and Peter kept a copy of every edition his publishers sent him. These are from that shelf. The German title translates as “The White Shark, ” the Dutch as “The Summer of the White Shark.”
From the personal collection of Peter Benchley (American, 1940–2006), acclaimed author of Jaws, accomplished diver, and prominent advocate for ocean and shark conservation.
Proceeds from the Peter Benchley Collection will benefit five ocean conservation organizations: Peter Benchley Ocean Awards, WildAid, Beneath the Waves, Blue Frontier and Environmental Defense Fund.
Condition report:
Very good condition with minor shelf wear to the edges and corners of the wrappers. Light age-toning is present on the spine and the edges of the page block. The binding is secure and the interior remains clean and free of markings.
