Description
Group of three French translation paperback novels by author Peter Benchley (American, 1940-2006). These volumes represent French editions of the novels The Island, Beast, and The Girl of the Sea of Cortez. L’île Sanglante was published by Pierre Belfond in 1979 and translated by Anne Villelaur. La Bête was published by Bernard Grasset in 1993 and translated by Gilles Morris-Dumoulin. Paloma et le Grand Poisson was published by Stock in 1983 and translated by Marianne Véron. Largest copy: 9 1/2" H x 6" W x 7/8" D.
From the personal collection of Peter Benchley (American, 1940–2006), acclaimed author of Jaws, accomplished diver, and prominent advocate for ocean and shark conservation.
Condition report:
The books show light shelf wear with minor rubbing along the edges and at the corners of the covers. There is moderate age-toning to the paper stock throughout all three volumes. Light creasing is visible on the spines.
