Description
Auburn Sportswear polyester fleece pullover from the personal collection of Peter Benchley. The garment is constructed of bright red synthetic fleece featuring a stand-up collar and a black quarter-length zipper. The left chest is decorated with an embroidered National Geographic logo. The pullover is designed with a horizontal seam across the mid-chest, elasticized cuffs, and an elasticized waistband. Tagged size L. 28" L x 23" W, Sleeves 23 1/2" L.
From the personal collection of Peter Benchley (American, 1940–2006), acclaimed author of Jaws, accomplished diver, and prominent advocate for ocean and shark conservation.
Proceeds from the Peter Benchley Collection will benefit five ocean conservation organizations: Peter Benchley Ocean Awards, WildAid, Beneath the Waves, Blue Frontier and Environmental Defense Fund.
Condition report:
The garment is in used condition with several visible defects. Two small dark spots are present on the lower center-front of the body. A faint, white circular stain is visible on the upper portion of the left sleeve near the cuff. The fleece displays general surface pilling and lint throughout. The interior care tag is frayed and partially detached.
