From the personal collection of Peter Benchley (American, 1940–2006), acclaimed author of Jaws, accomplished diver, and prominent advocate for ocean and shark conservation.
Condition report:
Fair condition. One candle arm is detached from the frame and both units have cut electrical wiring. The mirrored mosaic tiles show advanced deterioration including significant foxing, silvering loss, and dark mottling throughout. There are visible cracks and edge chips to several glass panels. The metal frames and finials exhibit surface oxidation, wear, and remnants of old solder from previous repair attempts. Needs rewiring.
