The interior and base show visible tooling marks and textures from the hand-hollowing process. 4" H x 2 3/4" diameter.

Brought home from a trip to Kenya.

From the personal collection of Peter Benchley (American, 1940–2006), acclaimed author of Jaws, accomplished diver, and prominent advocate for ocean and shark conservation.

Proceeds from the Peter Benchley Collection will benefit five ocean conservation organizations: Peter Benchley Ocean Awards, WildAid, Beneath the Waves, Blue Frontier and Environmental Defense Fund.

Condition report:

The mug is in good overall condition. There is a small natural wood void or minor chip at the forehead of the giraffe handle. Light surface scuffs and minor scratches are present on the exterior and base. The interior shows minor darkening at the bottom consistent with light use or age.
