The Gentleman's Collection
Lot 109:
Description
Danish Modern console-to-dining table featuring a flip-top expansion design. The rectangular top is surfaced with book-matched rosewood veneers displaying a symmetrical grain pattern. The primary top consists of two hinged sections that open to double the surface area. The table is supported by two slab-style pedestal legs joined by a wide apron. These legs are attached to the frame with brass hinges, functioning as gate-legs that swing out to provide support for the extended tabletop. The interior apron and base components appear to be constructed from a lighter-toned hardwood or teak. Hardware includes brass butt hinges on the tabletop and gate-leg mechanisms. Four circular plastic fasteners are visible on the interior face of the apron. No manufacturer labels are present. Closed: 29″ H x 59″ W x 15 1/2″ D. Open: 28 1/2″ H x 59″ W x 31 1/2″ D.
Condition report:
The table is in good vintage condition. The rosewood veneer shows minor finish wear and scattered scuffs along the perimeter edges and corners of the slab legs. Oxidation and light pitting are present on the brass hinges. The underside and interior apron exhibit minor scratches and surface wear consistent with age and mechanical use. No lifting or losses to the veneer are visible.
