Description
An assortment of 18 antique and vintage walking sticks and canes with a coordinating wooden stand. The collection includes a variety of handle and shaft types. Notable handle materials include a curved boar tusk or horn with a foliate-engraved silver-toned metal collar, a stag horn handle, and a carved wooden bulldog head with a silver-toned collar. Several canes feature decorative cast metal handles including floral-embossed and rope-textured designs. A portion of the collection consists of rustic walking sticks made from knotted or gnarled root wood. Shaft materials include bamboo and stained hardwoods. Tallest cane: 37 inches.
Condition report:
The collection is in overall good antique and vintage condition with expected signs of age and use. Visible defects include surface scuffs, scratches, and finish loss to various shafts. The carved bulldog handle is missing the left inset eye. The tusk handle shows natural age-related hairline cracks. The wooden stand shows typical surface wear and a small white paint mark on one lower spindle. The bottom of the wooden stand is almost completely detached and needs repair.
