The blade features a fuller that extends to the tip. The hilt is constructed with black ribbed plastic grips secured by a single screw, a steel crossguard with a muzzle ring, and a bird’s head pommel with a functional attachment mechanism. The blade ricasso is marked AFH above a circular flaming bomb ordnance mark, with U S separated by the flame, and the date 1942 below. The M7 scabbard is composed of olive drab green fiberglass with a steel throat and a wire belt hanger. Marked on the blade ricasso AFH. 16" L x 1" W. 10" blade.

Condition report:

The blade exhibits significant finish wear, surface scratches, and scattered oxidation and pitting throughout. The crossguard and pommel show a heavy patina with light surface rust. The black plastic grips are intact with surface abrasions and accumulated dirt in the ribbing. The fiberglass scabbard body shows minor scuffs and scratches to the olive drab finish, while the steel throat displays finish loss and surface oxidation. The wire hanger is slightly bent but remains functional.
