Description
Turkish block meerschaum tobacco pipe featuring a hand-carved dragon claw motif. The bowl is shaped as a decorative chalice with intricate floral and geometric patterns, grasped by a large, three-taloned claw with detailed scale textures. The shank transitions into a curved, translucent stem of mottled brown amberoid material with a standard lip. The pipe is housed in a custom-fitted, leather-covered hard case with an orange velvet-lined interior and a brass-toned shell-shaped clasp. Marked with a gold adhesive label on the interior edge of the case reading BLOCK MEERSCHAUM MADE IN TURKEY. 3 1/2" H x 3" W x 8" L.

Condition report:
The pipe appears to be in excellent, unsmoked condition with no visible darkening, charring, or residue in the bowl. The meerschaum retains a uniform creamy white color without staining. There are no visible cracks, chips, or repairs to the carved bowl or shank. The stem shows no tooth marks or surface wear. The case is structurally sound with the latch functioning properly, though it shows minor shelf wear to the exterior leatherette surface.
