After Sir Lawrence Alma-Tadema (British, 1836-1912). Photogravure, after Alma-Tadema’s Under the Roof of the Blue Ionian Weather. Signed and marked OP – CCCLXIII in the plate lower right. With printer’s information in upper margin: "Copyright 1901 by Messrs Arthur Tooth & Sons, 5 & 6 Haymarket, London. 41 Boulevard des Capucines Paris. 299 Fifth Avenue, New York, & Messrs Stiefbold & Co. Berlin. Printed in Munich." In a period frame with handwritten note dated Jan 66 on verso. 13 3/4" x 32 1/2" (with frame 19 3/4" x 38 5/8"). Some toning to paper, minor wear to frame at corners and small bubbles visible in glass. Provenance: The Estate of Ron Travisano, advertising executive responsible for many well known ad campaigns, including the Meow Mix singing cats and Joe Isuzu.
