William Makepeace Thackeray (England, 1811-1863). The Virginians. First edition, in the original 24 parts. 1857-1859. Bradbury and Evans, London. In 2 red cloth cases and red leather faux book slipcases.
Wear, creases and small tears to original yellow wrappers, some minor creases to pages, wear and minor tears to spines. Names written in ink across top of some wrappers. Wear and tears to cases; shelf wear, wear and losses to edges and corners of slipcases. Label with Sotheby’s sale and lot numbers on outside of volume 1 slipcase.
