Marbled boards with blue leather and gilt lettering. William Nicholson bookplates to front pastedowns.

Wear to boards; wear, scratches and losses to leather, shelf wear, corners bumped, discoloration to pastedowns, pencil notations to front pastedowns, foxing throughout, notation in pencil on page 70 volume II, bindings loose, back cover of volume I dented, tear to back board at spine, foxing throughout.
