Philip LaVerne (New York, 1907- 1987) and Kelvin LaVerne (New York, born 1936). "Chin Ying" coffee table. New York, circa 1960s. Acid etched, enameled and patinated polychromed bronze and pewter. Table top decorated with Chinoiserie scene of women in courtyard dancing and playing musical instruments, set on base with fretwork form legs and stretcher. Raised "Philip + Kelvin LaVerne" signature on lower center of scene. Small scuffs and wear to stretcher and legs of table. Wear and losses to patina of table top and legs. Losses to black enamel of hair on all women in scene. Small dent along back wall on right side. 8" long scratch to bronze above two central figures. White scuff and patina loss around figure next to signature.
