"Property of George Hobbs" written in pencil on verso on frame. 16" x 18 7/8" (with frame 19 3/4" x 22 1/2"). Provenance: Rockport Art Association sale, c. 1927; private New England collection by family descent; Skinner American & European Paintings & Prints sale, May 20, 2011; private collection, New York City.
