Note reads: "Roping the Steer by Charles M. Russell. Collection of Ensign Sweet, Long Beach, Cal. Pioneer in the cow business in Montana and a range rider with Charles M. Russell. Collection of Mr. Wm. Gilhooley 155 E. 72nd Street New York City 1927."
A ticket from Artists of the Old West, A Benefit Exhibition of Paintings, Near East Foundation, April 14, 1952, a C.M. Russell postage stamp and Gatterdam Galleries labels are also attached.
