Tony Walton (British, 1934-2022). Pippin. Portfolio containing 14 pieces set design artwork. Various mediums, including collage, gouache, 4 sepia ink sketches on paper. Some with handwritten notations on the mounts. With a hanging plot rough on tracing paper and a window card poster with the Pippin logo also designed by Tony Walton. Political Platform Portrait collage 17 1/8" x 12" including mount. All as is and in production used condition. Created by Tony Walton for the Broadway production of Pippin, Imperial Theatre, 1972-1977. In 1973 Tony Walton won both the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Set Design and the Tony for Best Scenic Design for his work on the show. Pippin ran for 1,944 performances.
