Description

Group of five ethnographic daggers originating from North Africa, the Middle East, and South Asia. Includes a Moroccan koummiya with a copper-toned hilt and scabbard; a Middle Eastern khanjar with a dark wood hilt and brass mounts; a Nepalese kukri with a recurved Damascus steel blade; and two tribal curved daggers: one with a dark horn hilt and a leather scabbard decorated with a cowrie shell, and another with a cylindrical leather-wrapped hilt and braided cord loop. Largest 16 1/4" L.

Condition report:

The steel blades show significant surface oxidation and rust throughout. Leather scabbards and hilts exhibit wear, scuffing, and stiffness consistent with age. Metal components show a natural patina and varying degrees of tarnish. The wood hilt of the khanjar shows some material loss and exposure at the pommel cap.
