Description
This Blanc de Chine or Dehua porcelain figure depicts the legendary female warrior Mulan in a standing pose. The figure is mounted on a circular, tiered pedestal base. The entire piece is finished in a creamy-white translucent glaze. The unglazed underside of the base exhibits faint, incised marks that are not clearly legible. 13″ H x 5″ W x 3 1/2″ D. Location: 15C
Condition report:
A hairline crack is visible on the underside of the base, originating from the central firing hole. Minor brown staining and surface dirt are present around the feet at the base junction. A manufacturing seam is visible where the hat attaches to the head. Minor kiln grit and firing spots are present on the unglazed base. Four modern brown felt pads have been applied to the bottom.
