Description
This set consists of six pieces of mid-20th century American weighted sterling silver and glass decorative items. The collection includes a pair of tall baluster-form candlesticks by Empire Silver Co., a pair of low candle holders by Duchin Creation, an etched glass compote with a sterling silver base and rim, and a flared glass bowl with a sterling silver foot. The compote features a clear glass bowl decorated with an etched floral and scroll pattern. The tall candlesticks feature a traditional baluster stem on a circular weighted base. The smaller glass bowl has a simple flared rim and sits on a stepped sterling silver foot. All are marked. Tallest candlesticks 7″ H. Location: 7C
Condition report:
The silver components exhibit moderate to heavy tarnish throughout. The tall candlesticks show minor dings and surface scratches, particularly around the base rims. The low candle holders show significant oxidation and surface wear. The glass components of the compote and bowl are in good condition with no visible chips or cracks; the etched detailing remains sharp and clear.
