Description
A cased silver-plated six-piece cruet set manufactured by Walker and Hall in a Neo-Classical revival style. The set consists of two urn-form pepper casters with pierced lids, two open salt cellars, and two mustard pots with hinged lids and scroll handles. All six pieces feature octagonal pedestal bases and beaded rims. The set includes a small silver-tone spoon with a shell-form bowl and a floral-motif handle. The items are housed in a black fitted presentation case with a cream silk-lined lid and a dark navy velvet-lined base. Case 3″ H x 14″ W x 10″ D. Location: 12B
Condition report:
The set exhibits moderate to heavy surface tarnish throughout. There is a visible dent on the side of one mustard pot. The interiors of the salt cellars show dark spots and pitting consistent with prolonged contact with salt. The accompanying spoon shows significant green verdigris oxidation and heavy tarnish. The presentation case shows minor exterior scuffing and wear consistent with age, with light indentations to the interior silk and velvet linings.
