Description
A set of eight George II style mahogany dining side chairs manufactured by Brustlin Workshop. Each chair is designed with a tall, shaped crest rail over a complex pierced and carved splat featuring interlaced scrolls and a central stylized heart motif. The chairs are fitted with drop-in caned seats and include a set of eight separate yellow corduroy-textured cushions with red rope trim and corner tassels. The frames are constructed with front cabriole legs featuring shell-carved knees and terminating in ball and claw feet, joined to out-swept rear legs by a molded H-stretcher. The underside of the wooden frame on at least one chair bears a circular brand mark with the text BRUSTLIN WORKSHOP surrounding a central silhouette of a chair. 41 3/4″ H x 17 1/2″ W x 24 1/2″ D. This lot is located offsite in Rumson, New Jersey and will be available for PICKUP ONLY. Condition report:
The chairs are in good overall condition. The wooden frames exhibit minor surface scratches, nicks, and light wear to the finish consistent with age and domestic use. One caned seat shows a small localized break in the woven cane. The removable cushions show light wear and some fraying to the tassel ties.
