Description
Large round oak dining table in the Regency Revival style, featuring a radial expansion top commonly referred to as a Jupe-style table. The circular top is veneered in a radial sunburst pattern, radiating from a central square brass inlay with etched foliate scrollwork. The table expands via a set of peripheral leaves that attach to the outer rim. The top is supported by a quadruped pedestal base with four out-swept legs featuring carved acanthus leaf detailing and scrolled toes. A central decorative turned finial is positioned at the intersection of the cross-stretchers. The leaves are equipped with original metal latching hardware on the underside for secure attachment. Also includes a set of six curved perimeter expansion dining table leaves. The leaves are constructed of dark-stained oak with a veneered top and a double-molded ogee-style outer edge. Each leaf is fitted with metal locking latches on the straight radial sides to secure them to each other and to a circular table top. The set is housed in a custom-built pine storage caddy lined with carpet for protection. 30″ H x 79″ diameter without leaves. 103.25″ diameter with leaves. Condition report:
The table is in excellent condition with a high-gloss polished finish. Minor surface wear and faint scratches are present, consistent with age and light residential use. The expansion mechanism is functional and includes all necessary perimeter leaves.
