Description
Bearsville Studios (Woodstock, New York). Large-format cardboard advertising cutout mascot. Constructed from two sections of heavy brown paperboard joined at the neck, the figure includes a partial integrated cardboard easel stand on the verso. 30 1/2" H x 27" W.
From the Woodstock, New York estate of music manager Albert Grossman, best known for managing artists including Bob Dylan, Janis Joplin, The Band, and Peter, Paul and Mary.
Condition report:
Significant horizontal crease across the upper left head. Puncture holes located at the top center and upper right body corner. Scattered surface scuffs, abrasions, and small paint losses throughout the brown field. Notable edge wear with peeling and small cardboard losses at the feet and perimeter. Foxing and staining on the verso. The integrated cardboard easel back is partially torn.
