Tony Walton (British, 1934-2022). Pippin. Portfolio containing 35 pieces original set design artwork. Various mediums, including gouache, sepia ink sketches on paper, gold ink, acetate, collage. Some mounted and with handwritten notations. Largest 25" x 20 1/2". With a set of 12 mounted set design photos for the bus and truck tour, and a window card poster with lettering designed by Tony Walton. All as is and in production used condition. Created by Tony Walton for the Broadway production of Pippin, Imperial Theatre, 1972-1977. In 1973 Tony Walton won both the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Set Design and the Tony for Best Scenic Design for his work on the show. Pippin ran for 1,944 performances.
