Patricia Zipprodt (American, 1925-1999). Pippin. Original costume design artwork, mixed media with pencil and gouache. Initialed PZ and dated 72 below the foot, and with inscription from Patricia Zipprodt to Tony Walton "to dear Tone – love & kisses & keep the faith. A wonderful experience to share with you – xo P." Sheet 24" x 18". As is and in production used condition, and with large tear upper right, holes and tears along edges, tears and creases to corners, scratch from left edge into image, some discoloration to paper. Created by Patricia Zipprodt for the Broadway production of Pippin, Imperial Theatre, 1972-1977. Patricia Zipprodt did the costumes, while Tony Walton did the scenic design, as well as the design for the logo. Zipprodt was nominated for the Tony for Best Costume Design for Pippin 1973.
