Tony Walton (British, 1934-2022). The Wiz (film). 2 albums containing prints, photographs and negatives for various production and costume design elements. Album 1: three ring binder containing l00+ negatives including costume, set and other production design elements; contact sheets, photos and additional negatives including of costume maquettes, Macy’s float models. Album 2: 80+ photo prints of costume and set designs, including prints of Joel Schumacher’s Poppy Girl costumes, most pages with Tony Walton’s handwritten labels on the mounts. Graffiti City 7 1/2" x 10", album 2 12 3/4" x 16 3/4" x 1". All as is and in production used condition. Pages all with wear and plastic sleeves in albums have degraded over time. Created by Tony Walton for the film The Wiz, Universal, 1978. Tony Walton was the production designer and did the costumes for The Wiz, and was nominated for 2 Academy Awards in 1979 – Best Costume Design, and Best Art Direction – for his work on the film.
