Tony Walton (British, 1934-2022). The Wiz (film). Group of 16 costume design prints, from Tony Walton’s original artwork. 2 Cowardly Lion (Ted Ross), 2 Tin Man (Nipsey Russell), 3 The Wiz (Richard Pryor), 3 Scarecrow (Michael Jackson), 3 Dorothy (Diana Ross), 3 Evillene The Wicked Witch of the West (Mabel King). All initialed TW in the plate. Each sheet 24" x 18". All with wear, some discoloration, waviness, creases and minor losses to corners. Created by Tony Walton for the film The Wiz, Universal, 1978. Tony Walton was the production designer and did the costumes for The Wiz, and was nominated for 2 Academy Awards in 1979 – Best Costume Design, and Best Art Direction – for his work on the film.
