Tony Walton (British, 1934-2022). A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. Costume design sketch, pencil drawing, Senex. Unsigned, "Senex" and "Forum" written in pencil lower right and left and with a handwritten label "’Forum’ Orig. Senex Pencil Rough" on the side of the frame. 16 1/2" x 12" (with frame 23 5/8" x 18 5/8"). As is and in production used condition, and with toning and discoloration to paper, discoloration and smudges to mat, losses to frame and no glass in frame. Created by Tony Walton for the Broadway production of A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Alvin Theatre, 1962-1964. Forum won the Tony for Best Musical in 1963.
